Founded in 1966 as KDA Scheme 24 and named after Allama Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal grew into one of Karachi's biggest planned towns, twenty blocks of homes, flats and institutions holding close to a million people. Wikipedia calls it a university town outright: more than a dozen higher-education institutions sit here, including the University of Karachi, NED University, IBA Karachi, Sir Syed University, the Federal Urdu University, UIT University and the Aga Khan University. Around them sits a whole economy of admin offices, exam staff, coaching and support services.
University Road is the spine everything hangs off. The Expo Centre, the city's main exhibition venue, stands on it; the Civic Centre, the city government's office hub, is on it; Maskan Chowrangi feeds the blocks around the university, Hassan Square anchors the western side, and Patel Hospital serves Block 4. When an exhibition is on, thousands of exhibitor and visitor staff need feeding on someone else's schedule, not a canteen's.

Who orders office lunch in Gulshan-e-Iqbal?
University and institute admin offices along University Road, teams at the Civic Centre and Hassan Square, hospital staff near Block 4, and exhibitor crews during Expo Centre events. Any workplace with ten or more people can run the plan.
Can you cover Expo Centre event days?
Yes. Exhibitions run long days, and crews eat at odd hours. Message us the event dates on WhatsApp and we will plan box drops around your schedule, or quote a daig with serving setup for the full team.
Does the weekly plan suit a university term?
